Do’s During Pregnancy
Schedule Regular Appointments with your doctor: - Make sure you regularly visit your doctor when you are pregnant. During the progression of pregnancy week by week, there are various changes that take place in your body. Regular screening and medications can help you cope up with the complications.
Continue with exercising: - It is pretty much normal to continue with your exercises even when you are pregnant. However, you must consult your doctor before involving in strenuous exercises such as swimming, diving, gym, etc. You must perform easy to do and simple exercises to relax your muscles and tissues.
Proper Diet and Nutrition: - When you are pregnant, you need adequate amount to calcium, proteins, vitamins, iron and fiber.  Eat lot of green leafy vegetables, fruits and salads. However, you may consult your dietician to plan a complete diet chart for you.  You must stay away from processed foods, oily and starchy foods as they make your body receive less oxygen and can prove detrimental to the health of your baby.
Multi-vitamins and health supplements: - With the progression of pregnancy week by week, your body requires increased intake of many nutrients such as proteins, vitamins and iron.  Therefore, you should always take several health supplements and multi-vitamins to fulfill your bodily requirements.
Perform pregnancy safe activities: - Whether it is exercising or climbing stairs, be on safe side and perform activities that are safe to your pregnancy. Try to avoid all those things that can retard the fetus growth and enhance your complications.
Don’ts during Pregnancy
Don’t smoke: - Women who smoke during their pregnancy carry increased risk of miscarriages and premature delivery. It retards the growth of fetus and can adverse effect on the central nervous system of your body.
Don’t perform jogging or strenuous exercises: - Do not involve in jogging with the advancement of pregnancy week by week especially during the last trimester. Unless approved by your doctor, do not perform strenuous exercises as it can hurt your fetus. When you exercise gently, increased oxygen is shifted to lungs, muscles and your heart. But performing too strenuous activities restrict the flow to oxygen towards the fetus.
Don’t forget seat belt: - Most of the women are afraid of car crashes and accidents while travelling. It is advisable to always wear seat belts as they decrease the chances of pregnancy related complications caused due to accidents or crashes.
Don’t decide to deliver too early: - Babies who are delivered after 39 weeks have more developed brain and less respiratory distress. They comparatively spend less time in hospital and are healthier than the babies delivered before 37 weeks.
Don’t indulge in elective surgeries: - If you are witnessing some health issues and your doctors have suggested you to perform optional surgery, try not to indulge in it unless urgent. As with every kind of surgery there are many complications and risk factors associated that can affect your fetus.
