The development of an
offspring called embryo or fetus in a women's womb is termed as pregnancy.
Child takes birth usual after 38 weeks from when you conceive. It usually take
40 weeks for women who have their menstrual cycle of 4 weeks. week by week pregnancy shows up some
new development and improvements in the baby, in you and in your partner. Lets
discuss pregnancy week by week so that you know what to expect for the special
40 weeks of your pregnancy.
In your first
week of pregnancy, you might not even know that you are pregnant. The lining of
your uterus thickens in anticipation of a fertilized egg- a pregnancy. You will
notice a liitle blood spotting when the egg implants in the uterus, called
implantation, which may appear to be a light period. Week 1 and 2 are the
beginning to pregnancy as your body gears up for ovulation and prepares for
fertilization. During week 3 of pregnancy, the sperm meets the egg and fertilization
occurs. Week by week pregnancy grows along with your baby. During week 4, the
baby splits to form placenta and the embryo and the baby's body starts to
develop with all the specialized parts. Week 5 is the time to confirm your good
news with a home pregnancy test as your hCG hormone levels are now high enough.
Alongwith this your baby's heart and circulatory system are developing.
Pregnancy week by week takes you to week 6 and 7 when your baby's face is
taking shape and your breasts grow faster than your baby's brain. Week by week
pregnancy when comes to end of first trimester which is week 13, your baby has
started moving in the womb making you morning sick, he's building muscles,
bones and cartilages and is now about the size of a peach. So increase you
fiber intake to cope with pregnancy constipation.
Pregnancy week by week
comes to second trimester which week 14 to week 27. Your baby sprouts some hair
on his head, eyebrows and body and is developing his eyesight. While he's
practising sucking and swallowing, your baby's skin now has a protective
coating. Week 20 tells you whether its a boy or a girl. Your baby's senses and
facial features are really filling up. The most exciting thing is that your
baby opens eyes during week 26. While the baby is making such exciting
progress, Mommy might have painful leg cramps, bothersome back, swollen feet
and ankles, popped out belly button and all you want to do is just sleep.
Week by week pregnancy
has come to the last trimester which lasts from week 28 to 40-42. pregnancy week by week makes you
plumpy and an outgrown belly is the growth of your baby. During this
third trimester, your baby starts to blink and dream, gets smarter, packs on
more weight, boosts his immune system. Your baby's bones are ready to rock and
roll but yours might be aching awfully. The baby's weight puts more pressure on
your bladder. Its the official end to your pregnancy when the baby is producing
surfactant to help him take the first breaths.
